Ever since I was young I have loved organizing... everything! Long before HGTV I clearly remember rearranging furniture in my parents’ house so a room flowed better and I would find the right containers to fit and organize different items in our closets and cabinets.
I grew up in Virginia and graduated with a BFA in Fashion Design. After school I moved to New York where I had a successful career for businesses in the fashion industry for 20 years. I knew it was time to move my career into another direction and reinvent myself after I started my family. To my surprise it didn't take very long! As I started meeting new moms I found myself helping families organize their lives to be more efficient and practical with a new baby in the house. Organically this is how my "a-ha moment" unfolded... I knew my next career was going to be a Professional Organizer and in 2013 I started De-Clutter Me, Leigh.
I've never looked back and know that I made the right decision because I wake every day looking forward to who I'm going to work with and how to help them turn just about any challenge around for a better home, life balance. My job is very personal and I would never take for granted that a client is welcoming me into their home and sharing things that they may not necessarily feel the most proud of. I am an empathetic, sensitive, and discreet person and am aware of the anxiety, embarrassment and vulnerability that a client may be feeling and in some instances it can even be an overwhelming and emotional process.
In addition to my experience as a business professional, I have a Masters in Education, a Certificate of Education to be an Alzheimer's Friendly Business and a member of the National Association of Professional Organizers. I believe that my experience, training and education allows me to look past many things and toward the future to constructively guide, advise, and provide well thought out recommendations for clients.
I look forward to you welcoming me into your home.
